HEALTHCAST: VOLUME 26

Hello Cara,

COVID-19 has caused a ripple effect of loneliness for millions of people in every sector of the workforce. Leaders can help mitigate workplace isolation. Since random lunchroom run-ins and deskside drop-bys are no longer a given—even after employees are asked to return to their workplaces—new approaches will be needed to foster healthy relationships at a distance.

Steve Pemberton, best-selling author and chief human resources officer at Workhuman, shares advice in a Fast Company article on how managers can help employees handle the isolation; Mike Veny, mental health speaker and author of Transforming Stigma, speaks on how employers can help manage mental health; and Mayim Bialik, neuroscientist and star of The Big Bang Theory, launches a new podcast to help discuss mental health.

Lets all make a commitment creating a culture around mental health as part of health and safety. I hope you are well and I look forward to connecting soon,
Brenda
